Sergii Marchenko met with EU Commissioner for Economic Affairs Paolo Gentiloni

During the working visit to Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko met with EU Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Finance for European Integration Yuriy Draganchuk, Deputy Minister of Finance Olga Zykova and Government Commissioner for Public Debt Management Yuriy Butsa.

The parties discussed the macroeconomic performance of the Ukrainian economy, the directions of Ukraine's budget policy for the next year and the process of Ukraine's European integration.

"The European Union is one of our key partners in political and economic relations, and we are committed to expanding our cooperation. Even in the context of russia's armed aggression against our country, we continue to implement reforms and adapt our legislation to the European," said Sergii Marchenko. 

The Minister of Finance and the EU Commissioner noted the achievements in the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the areas of customs and fiscal policy.

It has recently been one year since the signing of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on Ukraine's participation in the EU's Customs and Fiscalis programmes for cooperation in the customs area and in the field of taxation.

The parties also discussed the launch of the Ukraine Facility program with a total amount of EUR 50 billion. The funds will be directed to meet the needs of the State Budget and recovery.
