Public investment management

Public investment management is a crucial component of a sustainable and efficient public finance management system. Effective public investment is one of the important prerequisites for achieving and maintaining economic growth, meeting the demand for public services, and improving the quality of human capital. Investments in public infrastructure, economic and social, are an important factor for increasing productivity and competitiveness, reducing the imbalances in the development of regions and the emergence of new promising sectors of the economy with additional jobs.

The reform of public investment management, developed jointly with international partners, foresees definition and strategic planning of public investments for the medium- term perspective and their maximum integration into the budget process; unified approaches to preparation, assessment and prioritization of public investment projects of the financial sources  and mechanisms applied; digitization of processes and creation of centers of expertise as the main tools in order to increase capacity of authorities at all levels to public investments management.
