UAH 39 billion has Already been Spent from the Anti-COVID-19 Fund

As of November 06, 2020, UAH 39 billion has already been spent from the Anti-COVID-19 Fund. This is 59% of the total amount.

UAH 6.6 billion (40%) out of UAH 16.3 billion was used for healthcare. In particular, UAH 42 million has been spent on the purchase of ventilators (UAH 100 million was allocated).  Almost UAH 3 billion has been allocated for the provision of MoH laboratories and the purchase of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, of which UAH 709.7 million has been spent.  UAH 571 million has been allocated for the subvention to local budgets to provide hospitals with oxygen. Also, UAH 3.2 billion out of UAH 6 billion has been spent on increasing allowances and surcharges for medical workers.

It is important to mention that measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 are also funded from other sources. Thus, within the Medical Guarantees Program the National Health Service has already made payments to healthcare facilities in the amount of over UAH 8.0 billion for services related to the treatment of COVID-19.

In addition, as of November 05, 2020, UAH 3.8 billion was spent from local budgets on the purchase of goods and services to combat the spread of COVID-19.

The Ministry of Finance emphasizes that all expenditures to combat COVID-19 must be efficient and transparent. The effectiveness of use of these funds will be carefully checked by the State Audit Service of Ukraine.
