In July, the Ministry of Finance raised UAH 72.2 billion from the placement of government bonds

In July 2025, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine raised UAH 72.2 billion for the State Budget from the placement of domestic government bonds (hereinafter – OVDP). This is almost twice as much as in June (UAH 37.1 billion). The funds raised are primarily directed towards strengthening the country’s defense capabilities.

The average weighted yield of hryvnia-denominated OVDPs for the month was 16.18%. As of August 1, government bonds worth over UAH 1.86 trillion were in circulation. The largest holders remain commercial banks — 47.2% and the National Bank of Ukraine — 36%. The share of legal entities is 9.7%, individuals — 5%, non-residents — 1%, insurance companies — 1%, and local communities — 0.03%.

The volume of investments by legal entities and individuals in OVDPs increased by 28% year-on-year (August 1, 2025 vs. August 1, 2024). As of August 1, Ukrainian citizens owned OVDPs worth over UAH 92.8 billion, and legal entities — over UAH 181.4 billion.

Since the beginning of 2025, the issuance of OVDPs has already brought around UAH 312 billion to the State Budget. OVDPs are the second-largest source of financing for Ukraine’s State Budget. In total, since the start of the full-scale invasion, this amount has exceeded UAH 1.77 trillion equivalent.

Everyone can contribute to supporting Ukraine’s financial stability — military bonds can be easily purchased through the Diia app or from a bank or broker. The nominal value of one bond is UAH 1,000, USD 1,000, or EUR 1,000.

  2. Choose the type of bonds (names of Ukrainian cities or territories).
  3. Select a bank or broker.
  4. Fill in your contact details, select your ePidtrymka card.
  5. Submit the request, sign the documents, and pay for the bonds.
