The State Budget 2022 is an Investment in Person, Country and Future

On September 21, 2021, at the meeting of the Parliament of Ukraine, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko presented the draft Law of Ukraine "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2022".

The State Budget for 2022 for the first time is based on the Budget Declaration for 2022 - 2024.

"The main financial document of our state is a budget of investment in a person, the country, and the future. Budget 2022 is feasable and balanced.

It is the result of our combined efforts, which we achieved despite the pandemic, the quarantine, or the economic crisis last year. In 2022 the most important priorities are the medics, who are on the front line of the fight against COVID-19, the military, who defend Ukraine, the war veterans, to whom we are eternally grateful for their bravery and courage.

UAH 319.4 billion will be spent on national security and defense, which is 5.95% of GDP.

For the first time since 2017, we plan to increase student scholarships and provide equal opportunities for every child to receive a quality education. Also, large-scale digitalization will continue, "- said Sergii Marchenko during a speech in the Parliament.

The priorities of the State Budget-2022 are:

  • ensuring a quality level of medicine and education;
  • creating an inclusive educational environment and barrier-free space;
  • support for veterans;
  • strengthening the defense capability and security of the state;
  • development of infrastructure;
  • digitalization.

The total resource of the State Budget-2022 is UAH 1,465.7 billion (+ UAH 161.7 billion comparing with 2021).

Further, by October 1, 2021, the Members of the Parliament of Ukraine and the relevant committees should form proposals for the draft State Budget-2022 and submit them to the Parliament Budget Committee.
