Ukraine received the fifth tranche of large-scale EU Macro-Financial Assistance in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion

Today, on June 22, Ukraine received the fifth tranche of EUR 1.5 billion as part of a large-scale Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) for 2023. The total amount of financing under the MFA program reaches EUR 18 billion.

Thus, in 2023, the State Budget of Ukraine has already received EUR 9 billion in concessional funds from the EU.

The funds are provided on unprecedentedly concessional terms for Ukraine and are directed to finance priority State Budget expenditures.

"The EU's financial assistance to Ukraine is unprecedented. I am extremely grateful to my colleagues for their comprehensive support since the start of the full-scale invasion of russia, as well as for the timely and rhythmic disbursement of funds, which allows us to maintain macro-financial stability," said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

The next tranches under the large-scale MFF program will be transferred to the state budget in 2023, subject to Ukraine's fulfillment of the conditions agreed upon by the parties.

On June 20, the European Commission proposed to create a special facility in the amount of about EUR 50 billion, which will provide consistent, predictable support to Ukraine for the period of 2024-2027.
