The Ministry of Finance has attracted the seventh tranche of the large-scale EU Macro-Financial Assistance in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion

Today, on August 22, the State Budget received the seventh tranche of EUR 1.5 billion as part of a large-scale Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) from the EU for 2023.

In total, Ukraine has already received EUR 12 billion of MFA from the EU out of the EUR 18 billion provided under the program.

The loan repayment period is 35 years. At the same time, interest and other debt service payments will be compensated by the EU countries instead of Ukraine.

As in previous periods, the MFA is directed to finance priority State Budget expenditures, including social and humanitarian ones.

"The European Union is one of the largest donors of financial assistance to Ukraine. Since the start of the full-scale war, the total amount of direct budget support provided under the MFA programs has already reached EUR 19.2 billion. I am grateful to the EU institutions and member states for understanding our urgent financial needs and timely assistance, which is a crucial factor for the stable passage of the current budget year," said Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.

The next tranches under the large-scale MFA program will be directed to the State Budget in 2023, subject to Ukraine's performance of the conditions agreed upon by the parties.
