The Ministry of Finance: More than UAH 30 billion of Budget Funds has been Spent for Measures to Combat the Spread of COVID-19.

As of September 29, 2020, UAH 25.8 billion has been spent from the Anti-COVID-19 Fund. This is 39% of the total amount.

In particular, UAH 2.7 billion out of UAH 16.3 billion was used for healthcare (17% allocated from the total amount).

We emphasize, UAH 100 million has been earmarked from the Anti-COVID-19 Fund for the purchase of ventilators. The main spending unit, the Ministry of Health, has these funds in full (cash expenditures for the purchase of ventilators were not made). Almost UAH 3 billion has been allocated for the provision of MoH laboratories and the purchase of personal protective equipment for healthcare workers, of which UAH 553.5 million has been spent.

It is important to mention that measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 are also funded from other sources. Thus, within the Medical Guarantees Program the National Health Service has already made payments to healthcare facilities in the amount of over UAH 4.8 billion for services related to the treatment of COVID-19.

In addition, UAH 3.3 billion was spent from local budgets on the purchase of goods and services to combat the spread of COVID-19 (on September 24, 2020).

The Ministry of Finance emphasizes that all expenditures to combat COVID-19 must be efficient and transparent. The effectiveness of use of these funds will be carefully checked by the State Audit Service of Ukraine.

You can monitor the use of funds from the Anti-COVID-19 Fund on the official website of the Ministry of Finance.
